First, I am ready to admit that I hit the big 3-0 earlier this month. I have to admit that I was a little freaked out leading up to this point, but I've had time to let it sink in and have decided that I really don't feel any differently than I did when I was 29; I'm still tired and feel old! LOL. I'm also kind of putting pressure on myself to start a family, but not so much that I am letting it stress me out. Perhaps within the next year. At this point, I'm just trying to get my physical and mental health in better shape. Speaking of health, my asthma is doing a lot better now that I've kind of gotten my acid reflux and stomach problems somewhat under control. My doctor has recommended allergy shots so that I can eventually go off the asthma medication, which I would love because that stuf is expensive! So, I'm just waiting until I pay our mortgage for November before I start those (I find that it hurts less financially). Scott wants me to hold off because of the expense, but in the long run, it will save us $$. After a recent scope of my upper GI tract, I have discovered that my esophegeal muscle does not relax, which is why I have found myself unable to keep a lot of solid food down. My doctor and I are hoping to correct this with medication before having to perform more tests. I'm taking an antidepressant that is also used to treat nervous stomachs. That, along with drinking lots of liquids when I eat, appears to be helping. Fingers crossed!
Second, I have started a new job with Castle Home Inspection where I will be doing quality control for one of their clients. I will basically be proofing and correcting the inspector's reports and sketches before sending the final draft into the client. This requires me to learn new skills involving sketching of houses and being able to estimate standard measurements on houses, so it is providing a fun challenge for me. The only bad thing about this job is right now, as I train, I am only working 30 hours a week. But, once I am able to work independently, I will then be able to work my 40 hours. So, I'm hoping that within the next couple of months, I'll catch on more. In the meantime, Scott has been a trooper and has been working overtime, six days a week with minimal complaining (other than his feet are sore and would I rub them for him, LOL). So, things are slowly starting to come together.
Saturday, I plan on visiting a friend and then babysitting my neice and nephew. And that about sums up my weekend.
