Is Halloween Really Over?

Wow, Halloween sure did go by fast for me! Most likely because I did not celebrate it this year, the first time in many, many years and I'm a little bummed about it. My new company doesn't dress up for Halloween unless the holiday actually falls on a weekday and I chickened out, not wanting to be the only one dressed up. I've also given up on trick-or-treaters. When we moved into this house three years ago, we had 10 kids come by. Last year, we had five, and nobody came around this year at all. I partially blame my neighborhood because each year when I look out the window to see why nobody comes a knocking, I never see anybody else's lights on. Boo! Now, I realize that parents aren't all that enthused about all the sugar that kids get around this time of the year, but Halloween is not only about getting candy. Many people like it simply for the sheer joy of dressing up too! And if I do say so myself, I was a very generous candy giver! So, Scott and I decided to go grocery shopping (who knew that Halloween night would be the perfect time to go?!) and watched The Twilight Zone movie. That pretty much accounts for our weekend; it was pretty lazy and quite frankly, I'm ok with that.

In other news, Scott and I went to all three meetings at church, which hasn't happened in awhile. When we are not sick, we are pretty good about going to Sacrament meeting and then I to Young Women (for some odd reason, I have developed this social phobia of going to Sunday school by myself), but it seems as if we have both been sick for the past few weeks that has kept us from going altogether. Or maybe I'm just paranoid that I'll come down with the H1N1 flu (psychological fears really stink, ya know). Anyway, I figure one Sunday at a time. We're also on the 1 pm schedule, which is just difficult in itself. It's really easy to get lazy while sitting around waiting for church to begin. We'll be on the 9 am schedule next year and hopefully that will help a little more (our favorite time; however, is 11 am).

And tomorrow is already Wednesday, wowsers! Oh well, I did get my upstairs bathroom clean (minus the floor, that will wait until Saturday) and am quite pleased with that accomplishment. Cheers!
