Earlier this year, I requested vacation for a long weekend Jun 16-19 and almost a full week the end of July in anticipation for Youth Conference and Girls Camp because I was a leader in the Young Women's organization at church. Shortly after securing my days off, I was released and I decided to keep things as-is and indulge in a mini staycation since Scott has been unemployed for almost seven months now and going on a true vacation is completely out of the question. Luckily, I am a very simple person and am easily entertained, so this worked out quite nicely for me. Day one started with sleeping in two whole hours before finally being convinced by my cat to get out of bed to feed him (he likes to come tap my face with his little paws). After showering and getting ready for whatever the day had in mind, I played around on the computer for awhile, doing some online socializing, Internet window shopping and playing some online games such as Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune (I am limited to about one game per day, so I figure these games are safe from the whole Facebook App addiction). After Scott got up, he took me to the Bingham Copper Mine, my first visit ever. I found it to be very educational and refreshing to get out of the house for something other than shopping. Best of all, it only cost us $5 plus gas. The rest of my day consisted of battling Scott at Guitar Hero, to which all I can say is that I got "served" for sure, making cookies to satisfy a sweet tooth, and hunkering down to move forward in my latest HP game that I purchased last November, one that has proven to be well beyond my gaming skill level and that I conveniently put away when the going got tough. Thank goodness for online forums, although it took me a good while to find a useful review and work around to my Quarry level dilemma (now in full geek mode).
Day two I slept in a lot more than two hours. I don't know how it happened, but it sure felt nice (although I'm sure my cat would beg to differ). Early thoughts were to go hiking up to Doughnut Falls or something, but my laziness got the better of me and I decided to have a quiet day at home, although I did get out for a little while to use my in-laws fax machine...all without the assistance of a shower, getting dressed or putting on make up. On my way back home, I treated myself to a big Slurpee and took advantage of having the TV to myself to watch my favorite Disney shows and I Love Lucy. The rest is kind of a blur because I was so relaxed. I proceeded to do my typical weekend activities and then it was back to work. Looking forward to a whole week the end of July!
