What an uneventful, yet tiring week

This week seemed to drag even though I had Wednesday off work. I was summoned for jury duty at the West Jordan Third District Court. It was Code of Ethics, of all days. So, I'm a wee bit late in getting to the courthouse because of lovely construction EVERYWHERE and I didn't leave time to eat breakfast or make a lunch (although I did have time to swing by the Walmart to buy a book). There was about a 40 minute delay from when we were asked to arrive (8:30 am) before we were brought back for questioning before the case was tried. It was a forgery charge. I must admit, I hate standing up in front of groups of people to talk, even if it is about myself. And I felt like I could answer "yes" to most of the questions asked (do you have any family in law enforcement, have you or your family been a victim of identity theft/fraud, have you or your family been victims of a violent crime, etc.). We were there for almost four hours before they seated the jury, which I was not selected. I was kind of relieved because by the time the questioning was over, I had a huge headache and was starving.

Membership is slowing picking up, but things still remain quiet when we don't have classes. I'm relishing this down time because I know it will not last. Still, I am grateful to have a job at least.
