Sadly, there is not a whole lot to tell for 2010. Scott and I have no new additions to tell about or to hint toward and there is not any "great" news to report with work. So what can you tell me about your year, you ask? Well, I can tell you that we are both still alive (albeit a bit congested) and keeping warm and fed.
Afte 5 long years, Scott completed his electrician apprenticeship with the JATC and is now a licensed journeyman electrician. Unfortunately, just as he was completing his program, his project ended and he is now on the long out-of-work list with the union. But, I am pleased to say that he has used his new found free time very wisely and has been a great help around the house, both with chores and fix-it projects. In fact, our bathroom addition in the basement that we started four years ago is nearly complete (minus a sink, vanity, and some base board). I am still with Castle Inspection Services, working as an Administrative Assistant. My company has also been affected by the weak economy and has elected not to participate in raises next year. But, I am very grateful that I still have a job because I recognize that many families have far less. With that being said, I have no shame in begging for Junior Mints.
I am still serving as the secretary in the young women organization in my ward (I believe it's been a couple of years now). Although I've struggled to magnify this calling the way I should, I am still grateful to be in this position for I fear I would not get to church at all without it.
We still have our two cats, Tigger and Cutie Pie, and I am still allergic to them. Slowly, my allergies and asthma is improving with medication and shots. I had a minor setback in the spring when I had a reaction to a shot and had to lower my dose for the season. But, I am getting ready to move forward with my doses and hope to be able to complete and get on my maintenance doses by the end of 2011.
That's about it with the Junior Bakers. We wish all of our friends and family a Merry Christmas and a HAPPY and PROSPEROUS New Year!
