Today I hit a huge milestone in my life: I shot my first gun or I really should say guns. Now, this may not appear to be a big deal for some, but I can assure you all it is very much a big deal for me because, you see, I am greatly afraid of guns for many reasons (they're loud and dangerous to name a couple). For nine years Scott has been trying to convince me that with the proper training and handling, guns are not as scary as I think they are. In fact, he has all but begged me to let him take me out to the desert to shoot a few rounds. Well today it finally happened. It must has been my desperate need to get some sunshine because after we went out for lunch, I decided that I wanted to go shooting. I cannot even begin to tell you how excited Scott was. So, we went home and gathered ammo and guns, of course, and headed out toward Tooele. Along the way, we managed to splash through mud holes and somewhat rugged terrain. At this point, I was more afraid that we were going to get stuck instead of the fact that I was going to shoot a gun. I shot Scott's .22 rifle and must say that I did better then expected; I actually hit quite a few targets! For those who know me, I have really bad eye coordination, thus I have never been good at things requiring judging distance and aim, such as baseball and bowling. I was even brave enough to try Scott's .45 Glock (Model 21 in case you were wondering). I fired it twice (and missed, of course) and didn't like that one quite as much; it was louder and had a little more kick to it, not to mention the fact that it is his "taboo" gun. My family and close friends know what I'm talking about. However, I think that with time and practice, I can get better...maybe.

Wahoo! Good job Krissy. We need to take you trap shooting next. I think it's way more fun that boring old target shooting.
