It's a new year and I can't say that I'm sorry to see 2009 go; after all, it's been a rough year for all of us. Between Scott being laid off for almost half of the year and my sudden job change in the last quarter, our pocket books have been stretched kind of thin. And we've both suffered our fair share of illness along with the rest of the family. Almost all of Scott's side ended up with the H1N1 flu, resulting in a brief hospital stint for Scott's dad. I managed to skip the H1N1 virus this season and headed straight for two bouts of Bronchitis instead, something that usually follows H1N1, or so I've been told. This really did not help my asthma one bit. Despite all of these trials, we are still hear and still have a roof over our heads and food to eat. For that, I am grateful.
I started my allergy shots which consist of a personalized serum of pollen, grass, trees, and cat dander. I try to go in three days a week because the more often I go, the sooner I will hopefully feel better. I would go in everyday if I could. I also went in for another test called an esophogeal monometry (I think), which measures how much I am able to swallow. Thankfully, I am swallowing normally and the doctor has suggested a supplement to take that is known to help regulate the digestive system with the least amount of complications. The only downfall to this medicine is that I have to order it from Canada because the medicines manufactured here in the States have been known to cause some central nervous system problems and heaven knows I don't need anymore problems! So, that's that.
On a more personal note, I'd like to share my goals for 2010. I figure if I tell somebody, then I'll have a little more motivation to follow through with them or else risk feeling like a failure in front of my family and friends. So, here goes:
1. To start working on earning my Young Women medallion as a leader.
2. Read the Book of Mormon
3. Be more diligent in attending weekly church meetings and monthly RS activities.
4. Stop biting my nails.
I'll try to remember to up you all on my progress, wish me luck!
