Not really a whole lot to report on the Junior Baker end. Scott went back to work two weeks ago for Sisam Electric, a small company with about 10 employees. Lucky Scott still gets to commute up to Park City (his favorite place! LOL), but at least he gets to carpool with a co-worker. They meet at the shop downtown every morning and take turns driving up to Park City. Scott has mixed feelings on carpooling. While it does save on gas money, he is concerned that in an emergency, he will not be able to leave right away or would have to strand the other person. Luckily, true blue emergencies do not happen every day! Next week, Scott is in school, so he will get the chance to sleep in a little later and be home earlier. I am taking Monday and Tuesday off, finishing up my vacation hours before I lose them, so we'll hopefully get more quality time (if I get down to business while he is in school).
In other news, I found out that I only have four more classes left in my Bachelors program (including the current one: Public Finance). I am supposed to head off to girls camp for the first week in August, but I may need to back out if I cannot figure out a way to make my participation for that week. I'm going to talk to my instructor and see if anything can be worked out on that. I will need to find a part time job that I can work from home that will help to pay off my tuition quicker. I'm hoping that I can actually enroll in a medical transcription program that will help me to futher defer my tuition payments until I can do that from home, but we'll see. The program I have been looking into is a certified program that I actually found on the State of Utah website and would probably take about a year for me to do on home study. This particular school also helps with job placement. If I can't get to that, I found a telemarketing placement agency who contracts out with companies like Comcast and cell phone providers who will allow people to take customer service calls from home. It doesn't pay much, but I would be willing to try it since it would not be my primary income. I figure working from home would probably work out a lot better than having to drive somewhere. We'll see how that pans out. In the meantime, I will continue to plug away at school and work hard for my current employer (coming up on 7 years!).
